Very comfy
I am 5'3" and bought the petite small. They are a good length and roomy fit, even though I have a generous butt and thighs. The material is soft and comfortable. I didn't realize that they have an elastic waist and are pull-on pants when I bought them. The elastic is flat, not gathered, so it doesn't look like elastic when on. Love the pockets.

Didn't work for me.
I wanted to like these pants. They were comfortable and fit my hips nicely, but there was just too much stiff fabric from the knees down. Ponte isn't a fabric that drapes well. Maybe on a taller person that wouldn't matter, but I'm short.

Not as wonderful as I'd hoped....
I am reviewing these ponte lantern pants and the group of EF pants I ordered. Love the designs so I splurged and got pants in crepe, ponte & jersey knit and other cotton fabrics. I got straight pants, lantern pants, raw edged jogger style, elasticized ankle jogger style, wide leg and slouchy fit. I am 5'5", short waisted with longer legs and medium legnth usually works... I can wear tall at times. EF does run big so I sized down - very comfortable, but every pant was a little too short, as if they were all made for a petite woman. I get they are "ankle legnth", thats cool, but they hit me above the ankle and the lantern pant in particular looked odd hitting above my ankle... Its a great design and probably fits right for some. Disappointing for me. The ponte fabric held up ok to average wear and washing and kept it's shape. The softer cotton terry type fabric and softer cotton knit pants - especially the jogger drawstring-waist styles looked worn and frumpy right off the bat. Poor quality elastic was used and waistbands twisted in the wash - at this price??? These ponte lantern pants were the best of the bunch, but none of them surpassed Target quality. None of them looked new for long. For perspective, I bought a pair of tan cotton Champion sweatpants the same time I bought tan EF pants in a sweatpant style.... The Champions look brand new, the EFs are ready to be cut up for rags. It's not ok.

Same style as boiled wool version, not same fit
I'd ordered the boiled wool lantern pants in petite small, and assumed the same style in the flexible washable flex ponte would have the same fit. They did not; a little too snug around the hips, making the pockets pucker a bit. Exchanging it for the petite medium.
