Sizing off
I have been reading reviews of how the sizing is off lately. Well ,now I've experienced it twice myself. For years I've worn EF constantly a size PP. I'm 5' 110 lbs which makes the ankle pants a perfect length for me. I bought a pair in these in black 2yrs ago ,but missed out on the chalk color. The black fits the way they do on the model, however the chalk was too tight in the waist and looser than the pair from 2yrs ago. It says easy fit so I expected them to be a looser more full. The fit except for the waist was fuller more relaxed. But I had to size up to a PS for the waist to be comfortable. I haven't heard others say this,so it makes me think than the sizing must be inconsistent.
Anytime I try to wear a PS( out of desperation because the PP sold out) they're always too big. In the spring I bought a gray and green pair of the zipper and button pants in PP. They both pull on even though they're not supposed to. The Green are a perfect PP. While the gray PP were 2" longer and 1"1/2 larger in the waist! I had never experienced this with EF. Even a PS would not explain the 2" difference in the length. I wasn't sure if exchanging the gray pair for another would work or not ,so I paid to have them altered instead. I hate that now I'm one of the people finding inconsistencies in the sizing. I don't have time to go from store to store to try on clothes . I've always been able to count on ordering EF from EF (which all of these pants were) or ordering from Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks, or Dillard's and the PP being perfect.
Something is happening in the cutting and measuring of the clothing.

Front Pleats Are A Deal Breaker
I’m 5’ tall. The petite model wearing these front-pleated pants is probably 5’6” and they make her look heavy…I would look like Tweele-Dee in these! Please bring back flat fronts for this wool pant. I have this style with flat fronts in boiled wool from 8 years ago and it is so flattering!

Lovely product
Lovely product. Slightly bigger than I’d thought for a medium but pref theatre to being too small. Can adjust.

attractive and comfortable
I like everything about these wool pants: neutral color, generous fit through hips and thighs with comfortable elastic waist. The way the legs taper is attractive. The ankle length is longer for me, which I prefer; as my height declines with age standard sizes tend to be too long.

Favorite Pants
I love these pants and managed to pick them up during the big EF sale. I'm more of a dress girlie and I hate jeans, and also really prefer to wear natural fibers. This was actually my third attempt at buying these pants. I had been eyeing them for a while because I really like the look of this lantern cut I wanted something comfortable and loose but still had structure and didn't look like sweatpants. I first bought these in the stretch ponte, they were too big and I absolutely hated the feel of the fabric (reviews seem to say most people love that fabric btw! Everyone's different). Then I bought these in the dove color, also too large and the color didn't really suit me. I'm glad I tried one more time and sized down in black, because I love these pants. These really hit that mark. They are so soft and cozy, but still structured enough where they don't get misshapen. And WARM. So good for the winter but I can see them being too warm for later in the year. I love the curved cut and pleats in the front, I can see this being great if you're particularly hippie, though I am not. I'm pretty straight up and down, but the cut kind of gives me the illusion of hips which make them so much more flattering than other pants I've owned. It seems I'm a little younger than the average EF customers if the reviews are a good representation of the customer base, so I think it's really cool that thee can be styled for many different periods in a person's life. I can see myself wearing these for years and years. They definitely run large though. My first attempts to buy these were in a 3x and returned, and I was really disappointed that the 2x was out of stock. I bought the 1x on a whim not really expecting them to work, but they fit great, even a little large if I've worn them a number of times since washing. I'm not usually a 1x at other retailers so I'd size down if you're not familiar with EF sizing.
On the subject of washing, these are marked dry clean only but I hand wash them, since I'm never at a dry cleaners. Most wool you can wash at home, I just use a delicate detergent that is made for wool. I have a couple of wool sweaters that I've knit, and I wash them by hand periodically, so adding these pants to my handwashing wasn't a huge deal. I get that the washing instructions may be a deterrent, but wool is very antimicrobial and doesn't need to be cleaned as often as other fibers, so I don't find the fact that I'm not throwing these into the washing machine prevents me from wearing them all the time. Definitely recommend!
