Pilling on an Eileen wool sweater?
I love the color, fit and style but it has start to pill on the front!! I’m very disappointed and have never experienced this before with a normally quality product.

Nice quality wool but problematic fit
I'm a very longtime Eileen Fisher customer--from before she even had her own stores! But I'm finding it more difficult to find pieces I like and that fit well. I like this tunic-length top and started with size small (my usual size) but it was gigantic on me, even for a garment meant to be roomy. I then tried XS, and it, too, was way too big in the shoulders and too much fabric in general. Maybe XXS might have worked but there was no more stock. I also wish there were a few more necklines in winter tops other than crewneck--e.g., a slightly lower-than-crew scoop or V-neck. More flattering. I was disappointed to have to give up on this tunic!

Very versatile and comfortable fall/winter top.
I bought this top in 3 colors (tan, brown, blue). It is just so comfortable. I am a fan of merino wool over cashmere. With merino wool there is not the pilling that goes on with cashmere, and the sweaters just seem to last longer. This top is lightweight, so perfect for layering. Sometimes I wear two of them together, which works well. Hoping this top will be continued in future years.

Short sleeves!
I am so disappointed with the tops I have ordered this season. I am 5'10 and base my order on how the sleeve length looks on the model. I am average build for my height. When the description of the item says the model is 5'10 and wearing a small, I make the guess that the sleeves will be long enough for me, especially since I order a size large. I literally have 5 different sweaters/tops that I will be returning because they all have sleeves that don't even go to my wrist. As usual, the quality and style are beautiful but the fit is really disappointing. When I called one of the stores to ask if I could make the returns in person and the reason, I was told that the items shown on line are 'samples' and may not really fit the way they are pictured. Come on Eileen, I don't want to break up but this is ridiculous.

Perfect weight
I bought this sweater in Barley and I liked it so much I bought another in black (as if I don’t have enough black sweaters!) The length is just right ( I’m 5’7”) and I think it fits TTS. They layer well under cardigans and jackets.

Ultrafine Merino Crewneck Sweater
I love EF ultrafine merino wool and have owned many sweaters made from it over the years. I ordered this sweater in blue, and was so pleased with the quality that I then bought it in black and the oatmeal/wheat color. The fit is generous and boxy, so it works for me. I will wear all three of them with a black tank and my black EF slim fit onto pants. While I like the heavier merino sweaters and own several, there is nothing like the lightweight (or ultrafine) merino IMO. I hope EF continues to offer them in the coming years!

Nothing Special
Although this sweater is well made, it looks better in the website photo than in person. The pretty ocean color online is closer to standard navy blue and the knit isn’t nearly as soft as an EF merino sweater I bought about three years ago. And, it runs quite large. I’m 5 ft 120lbs. My usual petite medium was way too big. I returned it.
