Very Nice Dress
I really like this dress. It runs large. I'm 5-6, 140 lbs., and ordered size small. It's a size too big. I can sew, so I'll take it in on the sides. Sizing can be a problem at times. I love EF clothing and hope this company continues to maintain high standards.

unflattering design in a few ways
Style: I buy a black sleeveless dress from Eileen Fisher every summer. This time I was skeptical about the slit being between the legs, not on the side or in back, and being so long/high. The dress looks ridiculous on. It's not immodest. It just looks goofy, like a cross between a mini skirt and a maxi.
Fit and Sizing: This dress is oval-shaped and very baggy, even by Eileen Fisher's standards. I usually wear an XS and have to get your dresses hemmed. I'm 5'5" and 132 lbs. In most brands, I wear Small Regular. This time I tried an XS and PS. The XS was beyond came to the top of my shoes. The PS was a better length but otherwise enormous.
Ardent request: Please start making XS Petites. I wish for this every time I buy a dress from you.

Perfect Dress for Petite
I bought this in Small and at 5’ it is a full length dress, very much quiet luxury as the blood orange is more of a burnt orange. It really sets off my jewelry and tan. The slit isn’t too high but I am 5’. I wouldn’t have chosen this dress online but tried it on in person and was wow’d by it. It has that EF drape that we all love

Nice Basic Dress
I had to size down in this dress to make the shoulder and fit work. I am only 5’1”, so sizing down worked for the length on me. I’ve noticed in the reviews that some don’t like the front slit, but that’s what I think makes it fresh and cute. I bought it in the ink and it is a wardrobe essential now.

Rethink the slit
Love the burnt orange color. Wonderful fabric that is very comfortable & washes like a dream. The front slit, however is far too deep & when sitting exposes far more than I’m willing to share. Would have given this dress 5 stars except for the slit. Am having it altered to lessen the slit but not particularly happy that with a new purchase that I have to alter it before I can wear it out in public.

Love the Fit and the Fabric
I bought this recently and love it. I just wore it to dinner with a white linen jacket, some simple jewelry, and sandals. The next day I machine washed it in a lingerie bag with Woolite, then hung it to dry. It has a few wrinkles, but I can wear it again with no steaming. The cotton is very soft, the front slit is something to be aware of when sitting, and it can go anywhere.

I don't usually like sleeveless clothing, but this dress works. I love that it is cotton which keeps me relatively cool. The slit at the front allows for easy movement. The color is unusual and flattering. It can be dressed up with jewelry/scarf, or wear it casually without accessories.

Perfect Update
I purchased this dress as soon as I saw it in my local boutique. Each season I like to buy the new EF stretch jersey dress, which I usually get in black. This one is ink and it’s super flattering. The slit is modern and the cut is very flattering on me. I bought the white cross hatch stretch jersey collar short shirt to wear over it as a light jacket. It looks equally as lovely without the shirt. These dresses serve as a perfect basic in my wardrobe and I often reach for them when travelling or just heading out for the day. I’m retired but I like an easy, comfortable, elevated look and this dress definitely fits the bill.

Love this Dress in Petites!!!
After reading reviews of this dress, I hesitated to try on in store, being very petite. However I love maxi dresses and can never find a petite EF. I first bought the Ink color from the store and then bought the Blood Orange because I really liked the silhouette on me. I did downsize to a PP, so it would not look like a ballon on me. The sales rep told me it’s supposed to be like that—I did not like that look. BTW, I don’t find this fabric to be hot, stiff, or “synthetic”. I think it’s 100% cotton. Try it, you might like it.

Fabulous dress, very flattering
I love this dress. The column dress is one of my favorite styles but it's not easy to find one that doesn't either hang like a sack, be too clingy, or bag out in the seat or knees. This one doesn't do any of this. It's narrow enough to not be sack like but doesn't hug any curves either. The fabric is nice and smooth and the amount of stretch prevents bagging out and getting a rough texture after washing. Dress it up or down.

Beautiful Drape and color.
This is a mid-weight cotton jersey. It drapes beautifully. It holds its shape but moves comfortably with you. One reviewer referred to it as “stiff”. I did not find that at all, it just doesn’t fall limply as a super-soft or very lightweight cotton might. . I really love it and am thinking of ordering in another color.
For reference, I am 5’8” and weigh 125 pounds and ordered the small.
