Luxurious feel
The feel is luxurious. The drape is soft so it doesn't look as boxy as you would think. I purchased this in the burnt orange and the blue in XS, so the length is just at the top of my hips. Perfect.

Lovely material and fit
Like the reviewer Windy City Sister, I had low expectations of this sweater. The boxy fit usually doesn't look good on me, but I decided to try it because I needed a white pullover short-sleeve sweater. I ordered it in my regular EF size S, and it fits and drapes beautifully. I'm 5'6" and short-waisted, it hits right below my waist. The material is a winner, too. The addition of Tencel Lyocell to the cotton gives the sweater the nice drape and thickness without the droopiness of linen.

If I could fall in love with a sweater….
…it might be this one. Ironically, I stayed away because of the online description. Short, boxy, generous fit are not terms that do my shape any favors. I tried the white on in a store and had an entirely different impression. “Short” means it falls at my low hip, not my navel. “Boxy” is certainly true, but the fabric construction of cotton and lycocell makes it fall smoothly, and the subtle ribbing band at the bottom keeps it flat. (Knitters know the importance of ribbing to shape.) “Generous fit” translates more to comfortable to me with no pulling across the chest. Did not find it as overly sized as other EF garments with this description. I liked the white so much that I ordered the blue. This sweater works with wide leg pants, straight pants and skirts. Both will be in big rotation this spring/summer and under a jacket next fall.

Nice shape and weight
I really like the shape of this, but you do need to know what size you really do need and what the fit is that you would like. I like a box of shape, but I don’t want it to be super oversized so I ordered an extra small I think if you’ve been buying Eileen Fisher long enough, you know that things are oversized and if you like that look that’s fine. Order the size that you normally are but I didn’t want it to look super oversized.

Good choice for petites
I am a petite and have been wearing EF 20+ years. EF is making very few tops for petites these days. For me, the tops in regular sizes are too long in length and in the sleeves. This sweater is a nice fit in both of these areas However, I had to order a smaller size than usual as the loose fit is very loose. I prefer warm colors and the dark warm red option is good.

Another Eileen hit
I bought this top to match Eileen’s Arche pants. It makes another classic ensemble that I rely on that Eileen Fisher always offers.
