- 5'9" model in Woodland is wearing a size extra small. Petite model is 5'5" and wearing a size petite small.

Tgese I’ll great and are super comfortable. I usually find wool very itchy- but not these pants, which are soft, warm and feel luxurious

So Disappointed
I looked at these for so long before buying and although they look great and are very soft, the fabric and sizing are a big miss for me. As somebody else said in their review, this fabric stretches out with wear VERY badly. That goes hand in hand with the sizing problem. For a size L, the chart says you should have a waist measurement of somewhere between 32.5 and 34.5, however, the relaxed, unstretched waist measurement of the size L is 36". The elastic is sewn to the waistband, so it can't be tightened inside the waistband. The piece of elastic is simply too big. It should be tighter with enough stretch to accommodate the sizes without be so big that it falls down. Every time I've worn them, the waistband measures two inches larger than when I started. I have to put them in my steam dryer to make them shrink back to the original size. Very annoying. I have tried everything I can think of to make the waist smaller, but the fabric is too bulky to sew a dart, too thick for a decorative waistband pin, and I don't trust a tailor not to ruin it. I'm stuck with a pair of expensive pants that slip down constantly and I am very disappointed. I did try the size medium, but the pockets puckered over my hips. I seem to be between the size M and L. I just wish the elastic was tighter. It's not true to the size chart.

Boiled wool lantern pants
5' & about 125lbs. I purchased SP. They were sold out in my size and then voila! Back! I love these pants. Soft and wear well as they hold their shape. The length is fine but I like the rolled hem look. And the pockets are great.

Boiled Wool Jersey pleated Lantern Pants
These pants are perfect. The fabric is soft and lucius. The lantern style is the most flattering, in my opinion. I bought the last pair available in black, xxs. Would have purchased another it it was available! I also purchased a petite xs but it’s kind of short for me.
Please make these next year in Casis and moon.

My NEW Jeans!
These are so comfortable. I'd purchased a few pairs of wool pants from EF years ago. I pulled them out of the cedar chest last year and loved wearing them again (forget that two-year rule!) and then purchased several pairs from last year's selection. These were from this year's sale and, as always, the styling, fabric and comfort are impeccable. I wash these in the machine on delicate and hang to dry. I steam if they need it, but they often come out just fine after hanging to dry. I love the lantern pants so much. I also have this style in linen for the non-winter part of the year.

Great pants!
These pants are very comfortable. Wore them to work today and felt so good. I appreciate the big pockets to hold phone & key card. At 5'7" I wish they were just a bit longer, but the Lantern style makes it work.

Beautiful but a bit too big for me
First time by this Lantern Pant style and fabric. Gorgeous drape in fabric and it felt like it was going to feel nice on skin despite being wool which usually makes me itch. Sadly the M was bit too big in the waist for me (5' 6" and 135 lbs). Net time they go on sales the S.

Great winter pants that work casually and formally

Essential cold weather wear
Bought a pair of these last year and really liked them, so I'm happy to have another in black. They are soft and warm, with a wonderful hand to the fabric, and very easy to dress up or down. They are generously cut; I sized down from the first pair and still have plenty of room for a base layer underneath if the weather warrants.

LOVE but wish they were longer.
I absolutely LOVE my boiled wool lantern pants. They're lightweight but extremely warm - I've even shoveled my driveway with these on and they've kept me warm and dry. Thanks to the reviews, I sized down to a L instead if my usual XL so haven't had issues with them getting stretched out over time.
I just wish the inseam wasnt so short! I'm 5'5 and for some reason these pants feel much shorter than the regular flex lantern pants I own. Which has meant they have an annoying habit of riding up and exposing some of my leg when I sit down and I think that defeats the purpose of cold weather pants. I would also just love the option to cuff these.
Besides that small gripe, I've already ordered my second pair. But I hope lengthening the pants is a design edit EF considers in the future!

I truly love these pants in the Vermont winter. I have them in three colors and was looking forward to buying more in different colors. But this year . . . only black. Why? Please bring back more colors! And please keep the elastic waist and pockets.

Great for pear shapes
These pants are great for pear shaped figures. I am 5’3 and 165 lbs about and the petite small is fitted with an exposed ankle and petite medium fits as a looser fit. Other reviewers were right about sizing down as I am typically closer to a petite medium/large in pants. I sadly only got them in a black and wish they were still offered in the chalk color. The boiled wool in other pieces I have tried and not liked as it had a felt stiff feeling but this boiled wool jersey is the perfect winter wool feel. Super soft and stretchy and a nice closed knit to keep the cold out but not so hot that you can’t wear these inside. Cannot wait to use these pants this winter.

Great material weight and length
Love these pants. Really like the ability to mix and match my wool EF pieces over the years. These pants are made out of such a lovely material. And more importantly, I love the fit and length -- hits just right for my ankle boots to show a bit, but not too short that I can't wear flats/oxfords..

Run huge
I’m not sure how these pants have such glowing reviews when the sizing is so far off. I know EF tends to run large but usually an xxs fits me pretty well (sometimes even a little snug). In this style, the xxs was so comically large that I thought the pair I received was defective, and I ordered another, only to have the same problem. I am 5’10” and 140 lbs, with 40 inch hips, so I’m fairly thin but not a stick figure or anything. Really disappointed as I love the look of these pants on the model and the quality is great as always.
