The fit of the dress
This is a beautiful dress however, unlike many of The Eileen Fisher fabrics, this one does not have any stretch or give to it so I will be returning it.

Pretty Fabric and Color
Beautiful dress, again cut a bit slim. Would love to see EF do a bias-cut on one of its silk or velvet tank dresses, it would be more figure-forgiving.

Had to return...
I purchased XL size and unfortunately I had to return the dress (twice) as the neckline was pulling the one side abd the arm opening were unevenly cut and sawn contributing to the “off center” look.

A reason to get dressed up!
Absolutely gorgeous addition to my EF wardrobe. I’m sure I will have it a very long time. It is extremely soft and don’t find it to have a crushed velvet texture.

Too Bad
So disappointed that this isn’t the same velvet as last year’s. Bought several pieces for the holidays in midnight, black, cassis and a beautiful green. Wore them all so much...dressy or dressed down. Look is very lux but also great with jeans. Great for all ages. This crushed velvet is just not as chic or as nice a quality. I pass.

Last year’s was better
I bought two of the scoop neck black velvet dress last year - shortened one to knee length and left the other long, and it is one of my favorite and most comfortable pieces. Seriously, I wear them constantly even though they are velvet. I was so excited to see the Cassis color this year, but unfortunately it’s just not the same. It seems as if it is “crushed” velvet which ends up looking cheap rather than luxe. The cut and fit are still perfect, so if crushed velvet is your thing, go for it. I just knew I would always reach for my black dress instead so back it goes.
