High quality & Versatile
High quality, gorgeous, and versatile. Wear casual or dress it up, it is a staple piece for the holiday season. I am 5’10”, broad swimmer shoulders, and large busted, which this elongated style is very complementary.

Almost, but not quite...
The Velvet Belted Jacket wanted so much to be elegant and mysterious. But, slinky black velvet fabric doesn't compensate for the sloppy bathrobe character and skimpy cut of this garment.
I tried to love this jacket, but it just looked frumpy on me. The length was perfect, but there is not enough fabric for the jacket to have a generous drape and graceful swing. There is not enough room to move, and not enough room for layering. The jacket caught on my hips and was tight across the chest (not enough width in the front of the jacket to provide a comfortable wrap (perhaps it would fit better on a thin person?).
I could not wear the velvet jacket with jeans for a boho look, because the jacket got caught on the jean pockets!
I typically wear a size Large or Extra Large in EF clothes (43" hips, 38DD chest, 5'6").
For EF jackets, size XL always fits perfectly, but this jacket seems to be cut smaller than usual and is not graceful. The overall construction details are nice, but the jacket is unlined and the seam allowances, although finished, will show if the inside of the jacket is visible. The only visible seams (stitches) on the exterior of the jacket are along the edges of the patch pockets.
Unfortunately, I will be returning this velvet jacket.
I'm disappointed and sad that it wasn't what I expected...

Not my design taste
I so wanted to love this jacket. I have several EF velvet pieces. Alas, it had the look of a bathrobe = ( I am 5’9”, a fairly athletic 150lb. It wasn’t so much fit as it was design. It felt too bulky, maybe the pockets should go away? Maybe less flow? It just wasn’t for me. Fabric was nice.

Forget the belt
I removed the belt and cut the loops. I’m wearing it as a long cardigan with anything and everything. A new favorite.

Very lovely and wearable
This is lovely and it goes well with EF velvet pants or over an EF velvet dress. Nice big pockets, too.

Luxury for now
The material is simply gorgeous . It is a luxury item but in the time of Covid it might be the perfect lounge accessory

What Happened to EF?
I ordered two sizes, but the execution was similar to a cheap robe, including visible stitching and sloppy patch pockets. I returned both with the pre-paid label and have not received credit for the return, nor have I received any response to my FOUR attempts to reach EF customer service. I love this brand (my purchase history in this account backs that up) and I am perfectly willing to forgive a periodic misfire, but I can't overlook their refusal to credit my returned purchase. U ok, EF? We need to talk, girl.

Wish it had worked for me
Seeking a stylish jacket to top my various EF velvet separates collected over the years. So wanted this to work but at 5’3” it looked like a belted bathrobe. No better loose without the sash. Would love a loose fit open front long-ish cardigan but this was overwhelming. Sadly had to return.
