Too short
This would have been the ideal dress if it had been longer. I tried both L and XL, and both hit me well above the knee. I'd love to see a 4-inch longer version of this dress.

Pretty Basic Dress
Nice basic addition. The lantern style has room in the waist and hips and tapers in a little down to the hem. Dress up or down. My normal size was very generous, so I sized down and it still has plenty of room around the middle and fits just right in the chest. I ordered powder and black. The black is shorter, I think the length is shorter than described. I’m 5’6” and the black is shorter on me than it appears on the model. My husband loved the black with a simple nude heel. Love them.

Love this dress!
I've been looking for a dress like this for years. It is very flattering, fits just right, is lightweight but very versatile. The black color makes it perfect to mix with any type of situation or covering.

Little black dress I needed
I will dress this up with a dressy wrap, or down, and may even wear it as a tunic in winter with leggings underneath. The seams are invisible but shaping is terrific!

Great Dress - sizing varies by color
I previously ordered this dress in grey size both S and XS and the S was a better fit. I then ordered it in the blush color. The S was way too large, so I sent it back. I then ordered the S and XS in black and the XS fit exactly as the grey fit in size S. That said, I am keeping they grey and the black. The dress is very comfortable, flattering and will be great for travel. Note, I typically wear XS in EF, except for some of the linen t-shirts.

Great Casual Summer Dress
I just purchased this dress for the end of summer. I usually wear either a medium or large in EF dresses, so I purchased both since the dress was on sale. I am a little heavier than usual (5'7", 185#). The armholes were too large in size large, but OK if wearing a cardigan or jacket. Length was perfect, fabric soft, but it is not the pretty pink shown/a light blush. The medium fit perfectly in the armholes, but was a bit snug in the breast (I am size D). So, I am keeping both dresses as I will lose about 10# making the medium perfect. This is a casual dress, not as versatile as usual for EF due to the fabric. I do think this dress is short enough to wear black leggings underneath. I intend to wear the dress with a lite gray cardigan. Flattering.

Beautiful dress, too short
I bought this in my typical EF size, size L. I'm 5'6" tall and this dress is above my knees. Too short!! Considering that many EF customers are in their 60s and beyond (I'm 70), most of her beautiful all cotton "knee length" dresses are at least an inch too short for me. I no longer show my lumpy knees, but love this dress. Fit is just right -- not oversized at all -- fits in bust, arm holes are fine, hips are fine; fabric is gorgeous soft cotton -- my very favorite. I don't wear tencel or viscose ever. But looking at my knees ruins it all. I'll return it and plead with you to make some of your "knee length" dresses 39-40" long for us taller women. You already make petites for the shorter ones. Please.

Might run larger than usual
This is a perfect summer weight, and not too tight or loose...but warning: it may run large. I am usually a perfect 8 petite or Medium in every other brand , and a Small in most Eileen F dresses, but was extra-small in this one. However, I am rather small on top but have a typical midlife waist..bustier ladies might need their regular size.

Black lantern dress
Nice fabric. Dress is somewhat baggy and on the long side. I had to take 2 1/2 inches off so it hit above my knee. I am 5'3 and usually wear an XS which is what I ordered . Wasn't available in petite.

Just ok
I tried this in both Medium and Small. In both cases the armholes stuck out/ gapped away from the body toward the front in a weird way. They were also large enough to show your bra cups when looking from the side. Even with the sale and a birthday coupon, not worth it. (PS - on web ordering - sale % off should be applied first, then $ coupon applied, not the other way).

Soft, comfortable summer dress.
The style is flattering on my full hourglass figure. I purchased a large and the fit is great. I am certain I will get a great deal of wear from the dress. Probably should be dry cleaned only to preserve the fabric and shape. I'd buy more in different colors if available, especially midnight and currant.

Beautiful dress!
I just received my dress today, size small, tried it on and it was a wonderful fit. The style is simple and classic. I love the banding around the sleeves. Different jewelry and shoes allow the dress to be casual or out to dinner. The color is a soft shade of pink. I am 5"3" and the length is perfect for me.

I ordered this in grey and pink; pink is 2" longer in length than grey. Nice fit but not at all impressed for the price...a simple knit shift for this price is over the top. I've always loved EF and been a loyal supporter but maybe recent events of the world are making me think about EF purchases going forward. Cute dress,nice fit, but WAY TOO EXPENISVE!!!

Wish it came in petite
I agree with the other reviews- this needs to be available in petite. Perfect dress for those of us that are not as tall. Please consider us next time. I would likely recommend it if it was available.

Disgusted there is no petite sizes available!!!!!!
EF had cotton stretch dresses in prior years in Petite and I've always grabbed them all up because they are the PERFECT shift dress. Really mad that this dress is not available in Petite. Thanks EF!! : (
