I bought this for my sister who wasn’t wearing her beautiful cashmere pieces because of the nap being messy. Showed her how to barely engage the stone with the nap to clear it off, alternating with the wonderful cashmere brush. The Laundress has a wool and cashmere cleaner that softens and fluffs the nap back up along with the cashmere brush and sweater stone. There is definitely a technique with using the brush... quick and light movements that do not hurt your clothes.

Permanent damage to cashmere
Used this to remove a few pills but as it makes it look better at first what its actually doing is brushing and pulling out the fibers causing a shaggy mess which you will be able to see after wearing it again. The results look much worse than a few balls I could have picked off. Don't use it!

This product is fantastic! Obviously, if you use it too much, the fabric will eventually suffer, but it does a great job of removing pilling and extending the life of sweaters.

EF Pumice Stone. A de-pilling gimmick or not.
The pumice stone is a bit more effective than the EF sweater brush. Using it effectively is a little challenging, and I can see how others have reported damage to their clothing and residual pumice.
It requires a really light hand and I highly recommend using it on some old piece of clothing or fabric to practice on. The jury is still out on this tool. If possible, I'll update this entry.

Pretty useless.
This really doesn’t work well at all and leaves black grit and wool fibers everywhere. Fortunately it didn’t cost much.

effective but messy...
I thought this pumice like stone would be great for cashmeres..but it does not do a great job removing the pilling and leaves a powdery grit on the sweater...which is most uncomfortable when next worn...this is the ONLY product out of hundreds of purchases over the years that I have rated so poorly. Always looking for something for sweater pilling, but this is NOT it.

Pills Gone!
This product makes quick work of pills on cashmere! I love it. Just touch those pills and they practically junp onto the stone, leaving sweaters unscathed and as beautiful as the day I bought them. Sent one to my daughter in Japan. She loves it too.
