This did not drape well on me, and I'm not sure the body type I'd recommend it for. It sort of did a babydoll 90s thing, but just... didn't lay right.

Great drape

A great dress for many occasions
From now on, this will be my go-to “little black dress. It can be dressed up or worn to more casual events. The fabric is lovely as are the lines. I particularly like the flow of the skirt. My only issue is, of course, the sizing. As with most EF items, this dress runs quite large. I returned the medium for a small and that made all the difference. The top is sleek and the bottom hangs beautifully. Although I should not have to guess about size, doing so in this case was worth it.

All-Occassion Just-Right Dress!
This dress is a keeper: EF silk jersey is a travelers best friend and the style and cut of this dress makes it appropriate for a dressy event or a casual evening (layer with a basic cardigan, or an airy sweater to vary the look). The design is easy, but not shapeless. I find all dresses here cut very long so purchased petite sizing. More stretch silk jersey, please!

Ease + elegance + versatility = this dress
I am sorry to see this hasn't earned more admirers because to my mind it is classic Eileen Fisher. The fabric is indeed light but not flimsy or see-through and makes this a seasonless piece. I would describe the fit as easy rather than oversized or voluminous. The waist has plenty of room which is ideal for me, especially during the holidays. I ordered my usual size Large and it fits true to size for EF. Recommended!

wanted to love it but couldnt
I love Eileen Fisher dresses of this one was a no go… I am 5 feet and wear a size XL in her clothes… I ordered this in an xl and it was definitely on the large side but that wasn't the real problem… The material is paper thin and see-through and the plates are sewn in all the way up to the very top of the dress so you can actually see long stripes of pleats underneath the chest area… It is so odd… I'm not sure how anyone could wear this with those seams showing like that..i returned it 10 min after receiving.

I just received this dress and I’m quite pleased with it. I’m a solid M in EF clothes and the medium fits nicely. The slightly raised waistline and the gentle pleats help disguise my stubborn belly fat.

Exceptional fabric - soft and light - and beautiful movement from the pintucks. I thought I would have to get it hemmed, but it hits me right at the bottom of my knee (where I wanted it). (I’m 5’5” and the dress is a Small.) My new fave holiday party dress.

My Holiday Dress
I own many EF silk dresses from past collections, and this one is my new favorite. The fuller skirt flows beautifully and flatters the body with its gentle pleats. I’m 5’5” and weigh 170. I’m usually either a L or XL in her dresses and got this in a L which was the perfect size for this style. The simple, classic design will work for both dressier events and casual get togethers over the holidays. I wish there were pockets, but the dress is perfect as is. I had to iron it before wearing and used a lightweight dish towel between the iron and the dress to protect the silk. I highly recommend this versatile addition to your wardrobe. Yes, it’s pricey, but I will definitely be wearing this beauty for years to come.
