Perfect on Every Way!

Wish Petite sizes were Offered
Wonderful classic Eileen Fisher shirt, but runs large. My only fault is that it is not offered in petite sizing and downsizing isn't the right answer.

Classic blouse to wear at casual and formal events
Violette color is beautiful and could be worn with other colors easily. The material is soft and silky as described. It runs bigger than expected so I will wear it over tee shirts.

Colour not what I expected
It's a beautiful shirt, Fantastic fabric, great cut. But the colour is wrong for me. I thought the Violette would be a bit more purple-y vibrant, but in person, it is mixed with a lot of brown, so it's more burgundy. Washed me out totally, so I reluctantly returned it.

I love the red silk shirt!
I ordered this shirt in scarlet in size XL. My measurements suggest a size L, but I like shirts slightly oversized, so I chose a larger size. This red shirt is beautiful, and I bought red for its cheerfulness. The sleeves are long enough for my long arms, and in size XL, the cuffs slightly overlap my wrists, which I find graceful (so much better than sleeves that are too short!). I love the drape, loose at the hem, and the pleat on the back yoke is a detail I like, too. The back yoke is an important part of a shirt design because it provides more fabric across the shoulders and helps the shirt fit better across the shoulders and chest, and drape more generously across the hips. I've found that Eileen Fisher shirts without this design detail are not a good fit for me, so I always look for shirts with a yoke and pleat. The collar, too, is very nice, just slightly rounded. The small shell buttons dyed to match the red silk - a wonderful EF detail that I love. Classic. Understated. Perfect. I love this shirt and will probably wear it with more casual clothes, such as with jeans (blue, black, or grey) and under a sweater or vest, with a silk scarf. Most of my clothes are black, and I think red silk with black denim or linen is a perfect combination.

A Stand-Out Blouse You Need
This is a simply designed blouse made of gorgeous silk georgette in a striking color. (I chose the calliope color, a bright pink). I have read that as you get older, bright colors help you to look younger. Regardless of your age, you will look smashing in this blouse. Great to wear it with a blazer or suit & have this rich color peeping out.
It’s harder to design a simple garment than a fussy one in that any errors of styling stand out in the simple one. In one of the videos on the EF website, a sewer contractor said likewise it’s harder to sew a simple garment because any mistakes in stitching are instantly visible.
I mainly wear this blouse casually with my EF pants & appreciate the side slits that finish the top nicely. The simple design makes it timeless.
I wear a size XL & there is plenty of room in the bust & across the back to move my elbows around comfortably. Silk georgette fabric steams quickly & flawlessly.

My favorite shirt
I have this shirt in red, hot pink, black, navy, white, greyish blue. I love it for comfort without looking too big, appropriateness for many occasions and for easy maintenance. Washes like a dream. Spots come out easily as well. It is a classic,great with skirts, pants and as a second layer over tanks. Can’t recommend enough

Looking back at my holiday purchase.
I purchased the red “classic collar long/sleeved shirt before Christmas. Paired it with Eileen Fisher’s black pullover vest. It was perfect for Christmas what with the collar and sleeves heralding the Christmas color. The outfit’s style was seasonal, comfortable, and warm enough for wearing indoors. Am very happy with my purchase, Am certain I will wear it often.

Perfect in Petite
I recently purchased this shirt in Calliope.i decided to try something out of my comfort zone and pink is not in that zone. I also purchased merino wool sweater in Calliope . When they arrived I opened the package to find a beautiful shade of pink. It was a thrill to see the silk shirt and the soft merino sweater and not in Barbie pink that is everywhere. . The fit was perfect of both the shirt and sweater. The petite sleeve length hits right at the wrist no extra fabric which makes the shirt look tailored. The combination with bone wide length pants is perfect for holiday events.

Great Shirt
I have just purchased my 5th silk georgette classic collar shirt. They drape well, can be dressed up or down, and care is a pleasure - washing machine, hang to dry, and it looks like new. Sizing is normal, as I usually wear a medium or large in tops, and the medium fit beautifully. I'm 5'1" and like my tops short, so I did have it shortened a bit, although most people would not need to do anything to the shirt.
