Versatile design but execution not quite right
Lace up combat look + ease of zip up = awesome design.
But, returned due to:
* sizing -- half size too large
* leather quality -- thin, cardboard like leather.

Awesome boots
Love these boots! Comfortable right out of the box. True to size with a toe box that's not too narrow. Like the zipper so you don't have to re-tie each time you wear them. A little edgy, but not too much. Goes with everything!

Perfection
These boots are everything I was looking for. I wanted a classic combat boot for fall, with a narrow or adjustable ankle, good traction, and a minimal design, and these fulfilled all my dreams. I think the quality is quite good; the leather is good, the soles are thick, the zippers run smoothly, etc. I wore them out of the box and walked two miles up and down a steep hill without a blister. The sleek silhouette and chunky heel make them modern but not too trendy. I love them and highly recommend these boots!

Very clunky, heavy, hard leather... not typical EF quality
I returned these. On the plus side, my regular size fit perfectly, with enough wiggle room to wear "real" socks, not just thin nylons. Technically, I do not have a wide foot, but some Medium width shoes are too narrow on me... these fit perfectly, so I would say if you have a narrow foot, you might have to wear thick wool socks.
On the minus side... the leather was hard and heavy. I'm used to EF shoe leather being butter soft and comfortable right out of the box. These were not. The lug sole was also way too heavy, especially for a boot that is not weatherproof... what's the point of the lug sole if you can't stomp around in the snow? I purchased these to replace my overly-loved EF Bravo combat boot from about 4 years ago... there was no comparison in terms of quality, so immediately returned them. My Bravos will just have to last me another year!

Beautiful shoes but.....
These boots are beautiful but I couldn’t get my 9.5 foot into the 9.5 shoe. Back they go!

I was very disappointed with the quality of these shoes and will be returning them. They are called “Italian Leather”, which is misleading. These shoes are made in China. They are not of the quality I would expect from shoes made in Italy, from Eileen Fisher, or for the price. I hope this is not indicative of the direction Eileen Fisher is going.
