These are a great summer pant. Comfortable and stylish. I love the Seaweed colour, which is so versatile. But there is a lot of fabric in this item, and they take some getting used to. Based on previous experience I ordered the Petite Medium. I'm usually a size ten, and am 5'5". They are normal length on me, not cropped.

These pants are a winner
Great pants for summer. Eileen Fisher's lantern pants in linen are the perfect pants for summer. They are meant to fit on the large side which makes them cool and comfortable in sticky weather. With their oversized design the proper proportion of what you wear with them is pretty important. Fortunately the matching puckered linen tank top is the perfect length for me. I wish both pieces came in more colors, these aren't my favorites but I love the look and the earthy tones should transition well into fall.

Puckered Linen cropped pants are lovely
I like both the puckered linen fabric (cool, light and comfortable) and the new sizing (which is more appropriate than the “old” sizing and more in keeping with EF sizing of a decade or more ago). I think the cropped pant length is flattering and the pockets are deep. These pants will be a summer staple.

I’m a wide leg pant person, but these pants are phenomenal- the breezy linen with crinkled texture makes them flow nicely. Love the flattering seaweed color.

Beautiful fabric
Very light perfect summer fabric, feels great. I had a lot of trial and error finding the right size. The size chart did not help. Turns out I'm XS - 5'3" 120 pounds.

Great 'no fuss' summer outfit
I love the puckered linen lantern pants (black) and matching mandarin-collared, sleeved shirt I bought a few weeks ago, except for one detail. The pants fit small. In comparison, last year I bought puckered linen lantern pants (moon) in size small and they fit perfectly then -- and still do. I can see the difference in the size of the two pair of pants so it isn't a matter of a weight gain on my part. But even though this year's pants are a bit tight, I'll keep and enjoy them. My advice: if you're sitting on the fence between two sizes, purchase the larger size in these pants.

Great pants, runs large.
Great pants that ran much too large for me. I’m normally a size 6 in stores such as j Crew & Anthropology the Eileen Fisher equivalent is much too large, so the item was returned.

pants to love
this fabric is wonderful and I have loved the checked pattern since last summer when it came out. however I was disappointed in the fact that this lantern pant did not come in a petite. if I had had them hemmed, the line of the pant would be gone. they were to long for the styling so I am returning them and going to see if I can find the same series in either a shorter pant or a petite size.

Frustrated!
I'm so frustrated with EF sizes these days! I know they've changed so I followed the size chart and measured myself again and--according to the chart--I needed a 1X. (I have always purchased XL.) When the pants arrived, I couldn't pull them up past my hips! Love the style and fabric so this was VERY disappointing! I bought the matching top in XL and it fits fine! So this makes no sense. Very frustrated at this point and very disappounted in EF, which has been my go-to for most of my clothes for years!

The fabric was see through, a little scratchy, all which was not terrible. What was really bad is that the pant itself was way too bulky which would still have been OK, but the fabric did not drape, but stuck out in a very awkward and unflattering way. I find myself buying items from Eileen Fisher these days and just finding them blah. I need to make a better effort to return them. I'm finding my clothes from EF just satisfactory and sometimes not even that. What happened to all your good designers? And, not everyone can wear wool, even it you blend it. I used to buy ALL my clothes from EF, but these days, I'm finding myself looking elsewhere for the bulk of my wardrobe. If you are losing a loyal customer like me, who else are you losing?

Nice summer weight pant with one exception
This is a great summer pant -lightweight, comfortable, and can be dressed up or down. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is the elastic in the waistband folded the first time I put the pants on. It should have contained a better quality elastic for the price, or the elastic should have been stitched to prevent this.

Nice fabric, but too baggy and too short
I loved the fabric, but the fit was not flattering. Too baggy, and way too short. EF, when will you start to offer longer pants again? Every style is barely ankle length, or shorter.

Delightfully Comfortable, but it Disappointed
I bought the pant in the lighter color online. They are very comfortable - the fabric feels wonderful - but my closet (well stocked with EF garments), and then my local EF store, could not offer much to wear with my item that looked flattering on me. I reluctantly returned the lantern pant.

Wanted to love it, but…
I love the puckered linen mini check fabric, and I usually love EF lantern pants. I’m a size 10, pear shaped, and I always wear a medium in EF pants. These were just to wide and really baggy—not a flattering look for me—so returning.

Lantern Pant
This is the 4th iteration of this pant I've bought this season and I make many of my own clothes! It is an easy sewing project to customize these as they were too baggy at the hem and too long. First I shorten (place the legs together and cut using a ruler & rotary cutter), fold under ½" twice and stitch. Then, I narrow the leg by placing a leg on the ironing board inside out, flatten at the inseam to find where the side seam goes. Using a ruler, taper from nothing about 2" from the waist, to 1 inch at the hem. This takes out a total of 2" at the bottom and gives a more sleek line. I also take the pants out of the laundry wet and twist the legs to get a vertical crinkle.

Perfectly-proportioned lantern pants
Super cute! I'm 5'2", 115 lbs and I have to try on lots of EF clothing before I buy, mostly because often even the petite cuts are too generous. These pants are perfect however. Got 2 compliments the first 15' of wearing them.
