textural organic cotton with a yarn-dyed check. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™

I wish it didn't wrinkle so much
The fit is great -- and it is very cool in the hot summer in Texas. But following the washing instructions means it ends up too wrinkled for my taste. I'll try having it dry cleaned without pressing. I do love the coolness!

I needed to return the shirt as it did not work for me. I also felt the quality of the product was not what I wanted....I guess I though it would be a heavier cotton. Price point was high, also.

Oops, Different Fabric
I purchased this thinking it would go with pants and a skirt I have from a couple of years ago. I have appreciated that Eileen tends to use the same fabrics from year to year. Trying it on together, I kept thinking something was off. And, yes. I probably should have noticed prior to purchase, but this is a different fabric with a similar check. The jacket is cotton while my pants and skirt are linen. The linen is a much more relaxed fabric and does not look right with the stiffer jacket. For someone who just wanted it to wear with other things, it would probably be fine. I love black and white checks, but do not love the stiffness of the cotton pucker fabric.

Beautiful, classic jacket
This jacket is lovely. It is a perfect fit and nice weight. It does not wrinkle. It can be worn open or buttoned up. Nice addition to any wardrobe.

Black/white checked shirt/jacket.
This can be worn buttoned, unbuttoned or partially buttoned. Something could be worn under it. It is NOT boxy. (More interesting than the regular EF streamlined basics I see these days: Colors and fabrics are great, but there’s not enough interesting stying). I also like that the matching pants make this a fun ensemble. And it looks great with black pants.

Is very much oversized. In addition, i am sorry to see the absence of the kind of fine detailing I always associated with elaine fisher, garments. It's not just this jacket, it's across the line. Missing pockets, larger scale buttons and plackets, missing darts, and generally cruder fabrics. As someone who knows how to sew and tailor, i am really sad to see this happening with EF

Great jacket
A totally versatile piece. Plan on taking it with me often as a perfect non wrinkle top for the many air conditioned rooms of summer. It will also be perfect for traveling. The classic black and white check works so well with much of my wardrobe.

A new favorite
This piece is a favorite in my EF wardrobe. As soon as I saw this I thought of how versatile it would be, both as a standalone top and as a jacket over a tee or blouse. I have traveled with it and it shakes out from luggage very well. I have had numerous compliments about this piece.

A great summer top to wear as shirt or jacket.
I really like the casual but smart look of this top. It looks good on it's own but can easily be jazzed up with a silk scarf. I plan to wear it with my EF wide legged black silk pants.

Great fabric but odd design

Cute, but too short
I loved the black/white check, so took a chance. This jacket just doesn't work for me. It is too short, and the view from the side is an extremely unflattering bell shape that balloons out over my abdomen. The XL fit well in the shoulders, body, and sleeves, but it was so short, I tried a 1X because it was supposedly longer. It wasn't. Returned, with regret -- why no longer jackets or tops in this great fabric?
