Like wearing refreshing orange sherbet
I returned again & again to the Eileen Fisher website to look at this scarf. It isn't really "my color," for clothing, but I love the color anyway. It is so cheerful, and I wanted something happy and playful. The cotton mesh fabric is woven with a delicate and complex grid pattern. The long edges of the scarf have a tiny short fringe that is part of a woven selvage, and, under a magnifying lens, it looks like the weave is locked in place and won't unravel. The color, which is sightly uneven, looks as if it were hand-painted on the fabric. It is not a pink. It is closer to a reddish-pinkish-orange, or salmon. It is not red, it is not tangerine. The color looks amazing worn with purples, lavenders, denim blues, black, grey, or white. I washed the scarf in cold water and mild liquid soap, and when it was wet, it was a bright red-orange color, that became lighter as it dried. When wet, the longer end fringe becomes curly and stays curly when dry (which is fun!), and the fabric weave contracts and becomes nicely wrinkly. When ironed, the scarf fabric flattens and the fine grid weave is more noticeable. Patience is required to iron the fringe to reduce the curls. The scarf is beautiful when washed even without ironing, and also nice if ironed.
Overall, I like this scarf for its happy personality and slightly muted orangey color.
I am very glad that it can be washed by hand. I don't like clothes that require dry-cleaning.

Not Pink Grapefruit--
Great fabric but it is not pink--it is more coral, not a good color for me. Rethink the color description.
