Maintenance was a deal breaker.
I loved the short length of this jacket and the color (tarragon, I think). It would have been a great 3-season layer, but the fabric looked suspiciously as if it would need ironing after each washing … something for which I don’t have time in my life. (I make rare exceptions, but don’t wish to extend my ‘must-iron’ wardrobe.) I confirmed my suspicion with staff members at my local EF store who own this item … one did iron and one didn’t. I know that the ‘casual’ un ironed look is popular with many; I’m just not one of them. So, if you’re like me (and the other salesperson who irons this) and like your clothes crisp, you might think twice about this. If you like the ‘lived-in’ look, you may love this jacket. The other observation that I’ll make is that I didn’t love the huge pockets on this. To me, they were disproportionate to the short style of the jacket, and an unflattering distraction. Had I thought that this would wash, hang and dry ready to wear, it wouldn’t have been a deal breaker for me, since it would otherwise be a really useful item. Still, I’d lose the oversized pockets in a future iteration. Sad to send back, but it just didn’t work for me. Would love this in a more wash and wear fabric, with smaller pockets, though!

Easy to layer
Nice mid-weight linen. Generous cut, easy to layer. It’s a little full across the back for me- say boxy plus.

Lovely Fabric
Everything I hoped it would be. I got the matching pants and plan to wear the ensemble with an Eileen Fisher top that I've had a few years. Perfect for welcoming the cooler days of Fall.

Great jacket
I got this to go with the overalls of the same fabric. The only size available was large, and I was pleasantly surprised that it fit. I normally wear a medium or small in EF.

A great summer jacket
I love this jacket. The fabric holds its shape and is a comfortable weight for summer. I wore it yesterday in an air conditioned cafe. I bought the white to wear with colorful silk shirts. I also bought the cotton hemp pants in white and together I think I look a bit like an orderly in 'One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" which is a fun and fabulous look I love.

Lacks Easy Care!
Liked the style and fit, but not the fabric or color. Don't know anyone who likes to iron or dryclean. Having better luck with the denim fabric and colors in this style.

Very cute, but...
I bought this in white and it's a very cute jacket. Fit is perfect. But, be warned, that while it says it's washable, it absolutely has to be ironed, even with washing in a mesh bag, and removing immediately. And by "ironed", I don't mean just touched-up. So, if you don't like ironing, you should plan on dry cleaning - not very convenient with a white jacket.
