Bad workmenship
I feel like your fabrics and designs are not as good as before, including workmanship. Use to be clothing line for every ages but now more towards older women and make you look older when you wear them. Please consider bring back the initial flames of Eileen Fisher I used to love. Thank you.

Size down for this layering piece.
This coat definitely runs extra large so size down. It’s a lovely weight for laying on winter nights in the South .
Wish the pockets were less visible when the coat is open.

Add on the cost of dry cleaning
I loved the look of the jacket but honestly could not justify the dry cleaner costs. With such a light color I just knew I would get it dirty too often so I returned it.

Ombré
Comfortable cozy, very thin material. Runs large. Ideally for early fall and spring.

Leave your heavy coat in the car until January
I bought this on a FAB sale to match the wool rib dress in Maple Oat.
1) If you want this to be fitted at all, go down two sizes. TWO sizes.
2) It is a little bathrobe-y because the shoulder sleeve seam is dropped. Planning to always dress this up with boots and jewelry so it does not look so bathrobey. Also looking to find a matching top to wear under it to wear with jeans. The grey ombre is really more of a dull denim color. So this would look great worn with jeans too.
3) I like the piece. I'd like it better with a less casual shoulder seam. It takes a little effort to make this work, but it is a nice piece that I picked up for under $150 on a sale. So it is worth it.
4) The maple oat color really is not all that warm, especially with the steel grey. And the steel grey is more blue than black. So you might have to put effort into footware that works colorwise.

Great jacket for the south. Not too heavy but not to light.

Nice Fall Coat
Bought this lightweight ombre coat on sale. I had tried it on last season, but didn't love it.
I did tack down the pockets inside with just a few stitches, which made it much better. The first time I worn it I received multiple compliments. I wore this over the brownstone wool dress, and was able to enjoy lunch outside (Seattle area) comfortably. It is a really nice weight for fall.
(I actually do love it now.)

Grab It If You Still Can!
I can’t believe how lucky I am to have been able to score this wool sweater coat in one of the few remaining sizes still available — an XS. I was still a bit hesitant to purchase thinking I needed a petite size because I’m only 5’ tall. Not so. I’m very happy with the length and the fit. In fact, this is the size I generally wear in all Eileen Fisher long open front cardigans. I have narrow shoulders but my bust is 36D so I often wear a larger size in other EF sweaters. But this sweater coat was true to EF sizing in her comparable coats and open front cardigans. And that is to say that it runs larger than sizes from other manufacturers. As for the colors, truly exceptional. The ombre browns are done beautifully and look so rich. The coat will look fabulous with blacks and browns. I’ve had my eye on this sweater coat since it came out last year. But due to Covid and a period of joblessness in our family, I wasn’t in a position to buy it. I’m so incredibly happy and grateful to have gotten a second chance — and at an incredible sale price to boot. I can’t wait to start wearing it!
