Ombre Boiled Wool Coat - best for tall slim women
The fabric, cut, and design were of the usual EF quality- that is, excellent and comfortable. It’s a beauty.
Sadly, I had to return it: I’m 5’3” /size 14, and the dimension and cut fit a taller, thinner woman than I.
So, if you are taller and not overweight, this is a wonderful coat/sweater. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful autumnal coat for fall.
The colour is beautiful and exactly as in the photo - I was put off by the "brownstone" name suggesting it could be browner, but it is a nice dark tone tone shading into a deep autumnal red. The fit is very loose but it looks nice on so I was glad I sized down after reading the reviews. The fabric is much thinner than expected for boiled wool, even a light version, so I wonder about durability. Glad I got it in the sale!

Ombre at it best!
Each purchase from Eileen Fisher adds to my wardrobe in a different way. I love this piece as it coordinates with so many of my colors, that I never thought it would. It is light and warm. The design some how seemed bulky but I went with the smallest size, it hangs lovely. I knew this one was going to be a special piece and it really is.

This is a simple, warm coat. I love this length here in Oklahoma as we do not have very cold winters usually. It looks good with pants which I usually wear.

Too thin and too large for me
This coat was really pretty but the wool was much thinner than expected and more like a sweater than a boiled wool coat. The XL was so oversized that I had to return it. It took 3 weeks for the return to process and became too complicated to try to even exchange it for a smaller size. I lost my birthday coupon in the process. Might work better in a warmer climate than upstate New York.

Beautiful, comfortable coat
I LOVE Eileen Fisher's boiled wool. My last Eileen Fisher coat has lasted over 17 years now, and I continue to wear it daily during the fall and winter. I bought this, since it was advertised as lighter weight, and am so pleased with it. Love the ombre effect, the colors, and the weight, which is great for the 'bridge' seasons. The fit is loose and comfortable, and it will allow for layering, and to dress up or down. Happy happy!!

Beautiful comfort
It’s roomy enough to wear a sweater underneath without looking super bulky. Comfortable enough for all-day wear without getting too hot. I ordered my usual size small - 5’6”, 145 lbs. The colors are gorgeous.

Eileen Fisher is the truth!
Coat came beautifully packaged. I like that it is perfect for driving; warm without the bulk. A wrapped pin is provided for closure. You can dress this up or down. The ombre finish is stunning. I loved it so much that I ordered the brownstone scarf which really makes the coat pop. Sale price made this purchase a win win.

Spectacular statement piece
I ordered this in burgundy to add some color into my normally dark wardrobe, and boy was I wowed. My husband watched me try it on and said — “Boy your’e taking your look up a notch aren’t you?” I own a couple boiled wool pieces from EF and they are much heavier than this piece, because it is lighter weight it actually moves and adds a little sway to your profile. It is not the coat to keep warm in a blizzard or as the only means of warmth on an icy cold, windy day, but its perfect when you need a jacket, but want something that kicks your look up a notch (to quote my husband). I was afraid it might be too busy, but instead it’s a subtle wow factor that even accommodates scarves and jewelry. It can also dress up a dress or special occasion ensemble. I’m a curvy PL and unlike many pieces it has a generous fit through the bust and hips. Perfect for a cold winter day in Florida or California and the spring or fall on Cape Cod.

Beautiful too light for a coat even in MS. Elegant nice soft stylish especially with the brownstone pants. a little pricey for a sweater jacket but very elegant. I love it I own the hunter green and black and gray.

The brownstone ombre effect is gorgeous. Bought the jersey top in brownstone as well. Will wear them with a pair of dark jeans. Am debating whether to open the pockets as the line is great with them stitched. Happily bought it on sale.

A Versatile Piece To Add To Your EF Wardrobe.
EF has offered unusual and artistic fabrics for scarfs and jackets, this piece is one of them. I suggest that you size down as this is an ample shape. Four stars because a size L fit like a 1X. I had to return and exchange for a size M.

Unique and beautiful
I love the soft natural fabric, the unique cascade of colors and longer style that looks great with brownstone , black or cassis colors. I am 5'4, 110 pounds and am happy with the petite petite so it does not look too baggy.

Really pretty
This is really lovely, will be great in spring with jeans. The fabric is light, but hangs really nicely and fits well over sweaters. I love that it's not dark, tired of dark. Because the regular sizes were too big around, and longer than I wanted, I got a petite small, even though I'm 5'6".
Eileen Fisher, please stop making everything so voluminous, just looks sloppy, plus it's unfair to the people who really need a petite (because they're shorter) for taller people to be buying up the petites.
