Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and comfortable booties I just got these shoes and wore them every day this week. They go with everything and are so comfortable. I did find them tight on my foot when I first tried them on, but they have some give and stretch as you wear them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected. Arrived dirty. :( Sadly, mine arrived dirty and, on one of them, the edge of the rubber sole was already coming unglued from the upper. The other one had an obvious scrape on the sole. Guessing they were a return that did not get inspected. For me, these looked awkward on my foot (maybe better for smaller sizes?). The ankle is very narrow, which makes the rest of the shoe look huge. The rubber soles look lighter in photos but are actually deep black. So when looking downward at them as they worn, the whole shoe goes dark and blends together, looking like a big dark mass on the foot.. the linear details are lost. The leather upper isn't as smooth and soft as it appears in the photos.. it's stiffer and my boots had a lot of dents and bends in the leather. (Maybe this is why the sole is popping away from the upper? The leather is too stiff to stay tight up against the sole?) Perhaps it would smooth out over time but I didn't feel like taking the chance. I actually think these would have worked better in suede (it would have been great to have the Monde leather low-top sneaker and a Monde suede bootie sneaker.. I would have use for both). The footbed is flat and feels like a foam and that's fine, but I'm not sure how it would hold up over time as your foots sinks into it. A leather insole is a detail I've come to look for from pricier brands like EF. I see EF still offers that in some shoes, but not these boots. I know these are a sneaker but EF priced these like a boot. I think that's an oversight. Overall, I would have expected a much lower starting price point for these based on the quality–more in line with the Monde sneaker (which is an all leather upper). Both are sneakers with the same footbed–in one style you get more coverage, in the other you get more leather... this makes more sense to me. If you're considering these, I think they'd be a better deal at $69.50 (current price of Monde). I just have a feeling these are not going to hold up well past a year of frequent wearing. I sent mine back. Seeing the soles start to tear away from the uppers like this, I expect the clean lines of the shoe will be quickly lost as bubbles form and moisture will start reaching my socks. I didn't think it was worth taking that chance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute to Look At. Clunky to Wear. I was hoping these would be lightweight and sleek, but unfortunately, they felt clunky. While roomy in the toe box, they are shallow in the heel, so they slipped when I walked, causing the boot to rub against my heel. The top of the ankle is also very small, quite high and stiff.. it digs in with each step. It's too tight to tuck my EF leggings into, but too loose to comfortably pull them down over.. so I had to just bunch them up over the ankle, which made the rubbing against the ankle worse (and very distracting). I thought about keeping them to see if they might soften, but even for $150 on sale, I think they should be comfortable and well-fitting right out of the box. I prefer the wider ankle of my Chelsea Wedge boot. I don't want my clothing to create unnecessary distractions for me all day.. and I could quickly tell these would. So, they're going back! I also did not find the footbed exceptionally supportive or cushy–it's... comfortable enough. These boots seem like they would hold up for a year with continuous wear–I don't think they are '3-year boots'. They are also difficult to get on. I could see myself hopping around at a friend's house trying to get my shoes off before entering. Not the sleek shoe experience I was hoping for. I have to say I have a lot less luck with EF pieces these days, than in the past. I've been buying EF since the 90s and everything used to fit so well, and last forever–it was always worth the price. Even though I've aged, I'm still the weight and shape and the clothes and shoes don't seem to have the same detailed craftsmanship as they once did. I notice things fall apart much, much sooner, and aren't as comfortable, or timeless. Prices have gone up while quality has come down. These boots don't feel like $225 boots. If you have skinny ankles and get these at the current price of $94 they might feel like an okay deal. The pricing on EF sales also seems crazy. These boots were discounted, then further discounted, then back to higher price, then deep discounted, all in a matter of a few days time. When the price suddenly dropped significantly the day after I bought them, I was still denied a price adjustment–my boots hadn't even shipped yet! I had to buy a second pair at the deep discount price, then return my first pair to EF. $30 in unnecessary shipping fees for EF, an inconvenient trip to the post office for me, and extra carbon used for unnecessary air freight... all because they didn't want to offer a price adjustment a day later. Disappointed about this from a brand that claims to be eco-conscious. EF, please re-visit your price adjustment policy to include any further markdowns that occur within a 3-day period (even 48 hours!)–especially when you're running "sale ends on.." sales that intentionally create urgency, only to launch a new sale with better pricing a few days later. Sustainability isn't just about materials and marketing messages–customer service that is Simple + Kind to your customers' wallets and Simplified Shipping and Sales that don't create pricing chaos... these matter, too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as expected I wa super excited to receive these but when they arrived in my size ( a 10!) they looked like moon boots.the platform is exaggerated and made my foot look huge. I typically like a platform but this was not it. Back they went, darn it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love these boots, but... I love these boots! The fit is snug, which makes them a bit difficult to put on. The pull tab at the back is too small to fit a finger inside, making it unusable. However, once the boots are on, they look and feel great! I suggest making the pull tab a bit larger to improve usability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovin' my Mengs. Love my Meng boot. Hesitated at first, due to no zipper, but they are like mittens for your feet and make your outfit just "flow".
