A hooded jacket with sweater-soft texture and raw edges. In wool that's boiled for structure and movement. Meets the Responsible Wool Standard.

Light, warm, and easily the most versatile item this winter. The color is (brownstone) is beautiful, and the boiled wool is soft and does not irritate.

Loved the color: Not the fit
I so wanted to love this piece. The color is spectacular and the light weight wool perfect for a southern climate that gets cool but rarely cold. Sadly the way it hung clung at the hips. Overall this was not a flattering style for me and I chose to return it.

Lovely Flow, Beautiful Color
Terrific addition to my wardrobe for fall, winter, and early spring. I wear it indoors in the winter over a dress and will wear it as a light coat in the early spring and all fall. It's elegantly draped but works as a casual addition to anything as well!

Wonderful coat
Fits perfectly, color lovely burgundy brown, very tightly woven, not itchy. Feminine cut. Love it.
The color brownstone does not match across different items though. This is not the same color as the skirt of the same name color, for example. EF is slipping . Very annoying. I used to shop lots more, but quality is on the decline in general with the brand, of which the color mismatch is just one example, so I don’t buy them as much anymore. Oh well, brands rise and fall.
The jacket is perfect.

Great jacket!
I love that this jacket has a hood and that it isn't super heavy. I sized up based on other reviews and I'm happy with the fit. I usually wear a medium in EF and I ordered a large instead. I'm 5'9 and the length is below the knee. I love the brownstone color too! It's rich but still neutral.

So happy I bought this!
I've had wool jackets in similar material before and love the lightweight warmth. This longer coat/jacket is drapes well and is sized to layer over even a heavier weight sweater. I'm using it now indoors as an outer layer over loungewear and will wear it outdoors in the spring as a versatile coat.

Light weight stylish layer
I like the length. The Brownstone color is redder than I expected but looks good with some of my purple items from Eileen. I have been wearing a small lately but purchased the medium and like the way if fits not too tight for a jacket but not loose or baggy - it is slenderizing.

Beautiful Coat but....
I love the coat but the side pockets don’t stay in place and tend to fold creating a bump by the hip area (and no one wants extra bumps around that area) .I am wondering how I can keep the pockets in place. Any suggestions?

Multi-purpose "jacket," a.k.a. long cardigan
This is a beautiful "jacket," but honestly I wear it more as a long cardigan over dresses and simple tops/pants. The fit is thoughtful and the boiled wool is lovely.

Boiled Wool Hooded Jacket
Beautiful neutral jacket. It's more of a light grey, will work well with EF light grays from other seasons. I can see layering and wearing this in autumn through all but coldest winter temperatures. I love that it's cut a little trimmer.
EF, I hope you're listening. So tired of the loose or boxy look. Some of us have waists and would still like to wear your clothes!
A sweater would work under this jacket as would more figure hugging pieces.

Beautiful, quality piece
I am 5’7 155 lbs and between a size 8 (on top) and size 10 (on bottom). I took my normal size Small in Eileen Fisher the fit is perfect. Roomy but not boxy. I can definitely fit sweaters under. Consider buying in a second color.

Cut Small
The fabric and styling were quite nice but it was cut on the slim side (ordered PL). I had hoped to use it as a lightweight jacket, but no way could you get a bulky sweater under this. And the pockets didn’t stay flat. Might try a larger size and tack down the pockets, but this one goes back.
