This shirt makes me happy!
It took some time for me to decide whether I should purchase this shirt. I put it in the cart and then just stared at it for a couple of hours because I already had two black linen shirts! Here's why I pushed the button on this purchase: narrow mandarin collar (simple and elegant), long length (good with tights and can be worn open over a t-shirt), long slits at sides (contribute to graceful movement and provide additional design interest), long sleeves (can be worn long or rolled up, and covers my arms, which are no longer young), narrow band in front with beautiful small buttons, gathered yoke across upper back (provides more fabric at the back of shirt, which prevents shirt from getting hung up on hips). The linen fabric is fine and smooth and of high quality, the seams are nicely sewn, and the shirt fits & falls perfectly on my older body, hiding imperfections. When the package arrived, I opened it and admired the lovely shirt, ran my hand over the black linen fabric, and then put it on. It fit me perfectly, just a bit oversized, which is what I like. I chose size XL, which is my typical EF size in tops. For reference: weight 158 lbs, 38DD, hips about 44" and 5'6" ----- I haven't yet worn this beautiful shirt because the weather in my coastal California location has been cold and foggy and I'm still wearing sweaters. It was so chilly this evening, that I was wrapped in a soft EF wool scarf and an insulated jacket to take a walk in my neighborhood. I look forward to enjoying this shirt when the days are warmer, but I could wear it now under a sweater and let it peek out below...
