Gorgeous dress. Even better than the description and photo. Fabric is lush (I guess crushed) velvet with a slight shimmer as it moves. Feels like very high quality silk velvet. It is subtly A-line rather than just shapelessly voluminous. Hangs beautifully. Love the length. Can dress up formal or be down home elegantly casual. I have waited all my life for this perfect black dress! I would buy ten in every color of only they were to make them. Best dress I’ve ever had.

Not a fan of EF’s crushed velvet
I love EF clothing and appreciate the exceptional quality. I have several pieces in the velvet fabric & it’s so beautiful. But this crushed version looks more like ‘distressed’ fabric to me - like it has been vertically scraped to remove nap and create the ‘crushed’ look. I generally don’t care for the cheap look of ‘crushed’ velvet but thought EF’s was worth a look. Not for me - I’m returning. The fit was good - I have had to buy various sizes of dresses at EF for the right fit. This one I got in size small and it was good. For reference, I’m 5’4”, 125-135 lbs. I love the long length dresses - please make more with long sleeves. Especially in the great velvet - it’s be beautiful.
