Loved the pant, except...
I loved everything about this pant including the fit, except if you need a longer rise it may be too short. A 10.5 inch rise typically works for me, so wonder if the rise measurement given in the description is accurate. Looking at the fit on the model in graphite (and some of the other colors) the rise looks too short on the model also.

Jeans alternative with a cool but useless look.
Attractive jeans alternative. Wears well and washes well. But the leg pockets are awkward and useless. Who is able to reach anything carried at one’s lower leg level?! Certainly not my smartphone, possibly my keys, nothing very heavy; the look only is “utility” cool not functional.

inconsistent sizing
I am a PM, 5'2" 138 lb and purchased a pair last year. I purchased a pair this year in the graphite and they are too snug in the waist. Love lantern pant but sizing is off

I'm petite and I love these pants
I bought these pants a month ago along with the button down sleeveless handkerchief linen white top. I am petite and normally have to wear pants that are a much slimmer fit. I like that these pants look like cargo pants and I do not miss side pockets as I feel that would make them more bulky. The side pockets are low and only a design (not functional) feature that makes them look fun. I love wearing these pants. I tried on the white in the XS but this fit was not the same as the grey. Im going to try again for the white and black and hope that they fit as well as the grey. I have received compliments on the outfit and look forward to wearing them with EF long sleeve sweaters in the fall/winter.

Stretched to huge!
These were initially cute but after a few hours wear they stretched at least a size and were falling off. After Washing and drying I had the same result.

Inconsistent sizing. Odd pockets. But I like them.
Purchased Briar and Grove in PL. Briar was a perfect fit; looked just like the pictures. Grove was both too small and too short. My first experience with inconsistent sizing with EF. Boo.
I understand that the side pockets are mainly decorative, for if you put phone, keys, etc. in them they go all bulgy. So why not have typical slash or on-seam pants pockets to use as, say, pockets?
Despite these shortcomings, I'm willing to try again. They hit the sweet spot between the very wide legs that are everywhere these days, and my beloved straight and tapered EF pants.

perfect fit
I post this because reviews have helped me with sizing. I purchased these in PL. I am 5.5", 180. My weight is in my stomach, with flat hips. I can pull these pants on, and they stayed in place at my waist. I like the bit of fullness at the hip because it makes me look better proportioned. Washed and dried. Did not need to iron. Length above my ankle.

I like these pants so much that I ordered a second pair. I'm 5'2" and the leg pocket is a plus for me. Because it's deep, no chance of phone slipping out.

Great pant
I love these pants especially the elastic waist. Wish EF would put that waistband on her jeans. Hate the pockets just useless and add bulk to an otherwise great pant.

I just received the hemp cargo pants in PP. I am 5'2". The pants fit perfectly except for a laughably low side pocket. I placed my phone in the pocket and it falls to the middle of my knee! I couldn't walk in the pants because the phone hit my knee with each step. I am disappointed because I like the practicality of cargo pants. EF, if you would raise the height of the pocket in your Petite line, I would buy a pair next year.

Love the fabric, love the pants!
I love the fabric and the style. These lantern pants have an elastic waist and fit perfectly, albeit they are a tad long, which is an easy fix.

Back rise is way too short
I love the concept and fabric of these pants, but unfortunately they're just not made to fit me. My regular size (1X) gapes open at the back waist and the back rise is WAY too short—doesn't come up past my hips. Straight sizes might be different, but the plus ones really miss the mark.

Just what I needed
I ordered a medium in briar and they fit perfectly in every aspect. I'm 5'5 and 167lb so yes, they obviously run large! Every EF cotton t-shirt I purchased goes so well with these pants. The only thing I would change is that the legs are a little narrower but I am ok with the way they are anyway.

Very happy with these pants!
Got these online; determined my best fit based upon the cut and tailoring. I guessed correctly, and am extremely happy with these pants! They held up beautifully after washing with no shrinkage. I'm 4'11" and 137 pounds. The Petite medium work as regular length for me—which is what I actually wanted. The pants are roomy and the fit is quite ample, so plan accordingly. Hemp is a strong and sustainable fabric; the blend with cotton is comfortable and not coarse. Fly accessed from the left, which was a curious surprise but I got used to it quickly. Love the deep and ample pockets—perfect for carrying seashells and dog treats :)

Wonderful pant but...they run very large!!
ButThe pants are great vut they run huge!! I always wear a medium in EF but both the short and pants re e.rOrdered them both in small. Since the medium was enormous!

Good casual option
I purchased these in two colors on sale. They were not quite what I expected when they arrived but decided to keep them as an alternative to jeans. There is no stretch to the fabric and they run smaller than other Petite medium lantern pants I have purchased from EF.

The BEST chinos ever!
I bought these pants in the chino shade early in the season and love them. They have been in the wash and back on continuously ever since. I do wanted the ocean color, but my size sold out. These pants will work three seasons easily. I love the lantern shape and the very strategic placement of the cargo pockets-not those horrible patch pockets right on the hips that are not flattering. I find the fabric just stuff enough to create a great shape, but soft enough to be comfortable. I always hang these to dry after washing. Please restock the Ocean!!!

Cute but stiff
I ordered the white in a size XS, kind of risking it as I had a feeling they would be too small (they were too small). I was able to button them up however they were too tight in the waist, and sadly the small is sold out everywhere. For reference I am usually a 6-8 in other brands and wear XS in EF stretch crepe style bottoms. I docked a star because the fabric is quite stiff, it didn't have much movement but I would hope they would soften up with wear.

Try a size or two smaller
These can work, the trick is getting the right size. I tried to shrink these pants in the dryer. The circumference of the legs compete with the lack of fluidity in the fabric.

Great pants
I have this pant in three colors, motivated by its comfort and casual good looks. If you want sleek style, this isn’t for you. But it’s comfortable, nicer looking after multiple wearings than any linen, and so very practical for travel and every day. I also got the matching jacket in two sizes smaller than I usually wear. The jacket is huge. Pants, though, are true to size, and for me, have been consistent in construction.
