Awesome fabric
Absolutely love this jacket! Beautiful color, soft, comfortable, can be worn with so many other colors, perfect weight, so glad I bought it. I usually wear a medium but bought a small. It is just perfect! Please make it in some other summer colors!

Slightly different than expected but a keeper
The collar when turned down is the reverse side of the fabric matching the cuffs in the image. The fabric is lighter weight than expected, nice addition to wardrobe .

Swinging slinky improvisational poetry
I had just finished washing & ironing this coat/kimono (for the first time before wearing, as advised) when I found an emailed invitation to write a review. I have not yet worn my new coat beyond trying it on and admiring it in a mirror, so I don't yet know how I'll wear it. While ironing it, I imagined that I could wear it with: a bright linen shirt (purple, pink, red), a black silk shirt, a cotton t-shirt, black or blue jeans, indigo or black tights, slinky silk pants, sandals. It has a casual, subdued, yet playfully elegant personality, and wants to hear poetry recited in a dark room with candles and wine, and stroll and laugh along the edges of a grassy meadow in the moonlight. I hope I can satisfy its expectations.
The fabric is unusual. It has a hand-woven appearance. I assume that the hemp is the dark indigo and the cotton is the softer white -- the two different fibers are woven together to create a "tweedy" look. The soft fabric has a slightly slinky movement, similar to the drape and swing character of rayon, or silk, but softer than linen (it doesn't have the crispiness of linen). However, while soft, the fabric also wants to wrinkle, and I expect that it has its own personality and will do what it wants.
The collar behind the neck has an unusual construction and it can be worn folded up or flopped over a bit in the front, revealing the interior of the garment, which is a lighter color and a slightly different texture from the exterior. The seams are very nice: no raw edges to fray.
My usual EF size is Women's L, so I chose size L/XL. The coat is true to size and is generous and loose as expected. Overall, I like this long coat and look forward to getting to know it and making it part of my life.

Perfect for those early morning cooler days....
I bought this “on sale” and am beyond delighted. Normally, I take a ‘L” in EF sizes but ordered a “M” based on the views of other EF patrons. The “M”was absolutely perfect. This is the perfect jacket as just a one layer on cool mornings but with with enough room for a light sweater underneath. I do LOVE this denim jacket. Just an end note: I bought this on sale and am very sure I would NOT have bought it at the original price.

Warning-Runs Quite Large
I ordered a medium based on other reviews. I probably could have used a small instead, even though my usual size is either medium or large depending on the EF piece. Still, I kept it and enjoy wearing it. It's a pretty casual piece for me but works when I need to throw on a jacket for errands, walking the dog, visiting farmers markets, etc. I probably would not have bought it had I tried it on in a store, but I ordered it online and after deliberating I decided to keep it. Not my favorite EF piece, but I know I will get a lot of use out of it for casual outings.

Large Boxy Cut
I had been eyeing this coat for several weeks, and snapped it up when it went on sale. The material is wonderful. A light weight hemp, which drapes and flows beautifully. Unfortunately, the cut of this coat was very wide and boxy in the body. The sleeves were perfect, not too tight, the right length etc. When I modeled it for my companion, he uttered the "F" word (as in FAT). I'm a slender person 5'5", 115 lbs, broad shoulders, and ordered my usual size small. In short, this coat made me look huge. It's such a shame, as this type of fabric lends itself to detailed seaming. It would have been much nicer if this coat were designed with some shape to it, such as princess seams etc. It's probably cheaper to manufacture a "big box", but I'd really love to see some fancy seaming, like in the "old" EF days.

Perfect weight
I totally understand the previous reviewer who was disappointed in the fabric weight, but it's the perfect spring coat for my Phoenix weather. Not too heavy and not too light. So if you are looking for something for those cool mornings and nights, this is it. And the color is lovely.

“Substantial”???
The fabric is described as “substantial”, which is certainly a misnomer...it’s a really lovely woven fabric (5 ⭐️), but very light weight (1 ⭐️). Not sure if I will keep it as I am very disappointed in fabric weight.
