Nice coat but not for me.
I purchased this in black. I really liked the idea of it but, unfortunately, it didn't provide the look I'd hoped for although pushing up the sleeves did help a bit. My scientist husband told me it looked like a lab coat. I normally wear a L or even XL, but sometimes a M works. I could easily wear the Medium or the Large in this, depending on how oversized I wanted it. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify keeping it.

A Keeper
Size down one or more sizes and you'll still get an oversized fit. I wear a M in EF, ordered the SM, and it is still a slightly dropped shoulder. Works especially well if you are tall (I'm 5' 9", 150lbs). This garment would better be called a duster. A trench coat is usually double-breasted with buttons, epaulettes, a belt, a storm flap, kick pleat, lined, etc, - you get the idea. I have the cobblestone, which is a nice, 3-season alternative to black which is my regular go-to. The linen is heavy enough that I ironed it after I got it and will do so after laundering. Otherwise, it doesn't wrinkle more than cotton or hemp fabric. Casual yet elegant. Unfortunately, EF prices are getting beyond what a lot of women can afford for day wear.

Perfect for Spring/Summer
It is perfect, light, stylish. No lining but it does not bother me. it goes great with black t-shirt and leggings. I am 245 lbs and 5'5", 3x runs a bit large for me so I exchange for 2x.

"Just one more thing..."
I thought I'd drag out a quote from Columbo because that's who I look like when I wear this...except that Columbo wasn't completely swallowed up by his trench coat. Lovely fabric and color but wildly voluminous on my 5'4" frame.

3 season color and linen weight. Investment worthy
Good weight soft linen laying, unlined trench, versatile shade of brown, swings, covers, feels light when wearing, easy care, sturdy lifelong fabric and style. Reordered to SIZE DOWN for best fit. I hopeful it’ll be 3 season wear. Best investment :)

Too large and sloppy looking
The trench arrived folded and extremely wrinkled and sloppy looking. It runs 2 to 3 sizes too big. It was unflattering and I returned it. For the price I expected something special and I was disappointed

Definitely oversized
The coat is lovely but I returned it for three reasons. First of all, it was huge, like really huge. I’m 5’6 and 130 and my normal size for most EF clothing is Small. I ordered a Small but it was difficult to tell if I needed to exchange for an XS or XXS. Since I wanted it for an upcoming trip I didn’t have time to experiment with sizing and more orders and returns. Secondly, it is machine washable but can’t go in the dryer so the linen will never be really soft. Third, I would have liked for it to be belted. I knew there was no belt when I ordered and that wasn’t a deal breaker. Linen is my favorite fabric for summer, especially since I live in the Southern US, and the true beauty of linen for me is how it ages and softens when machine dried.
I do love the style in general and love the in seam pockets. I would like to suggest that if there is a re-design, consider an interior pocket or two like men’s clothing often has.

Not quite flattering.
This was actually a rare return for me. Although seemingly made decently, I thought the cut was not good and not flattering, meaning that it didn't drape well on the body.Also the length a bit short - practical yes, but not at all complimentary.

Disappointing purchase
I was eager to receive this online purchase but as soon as I took it out I knew it wasn’t going to work. Very large, I know EF clothing runs large but this was crazy big. Definitely over priced for what it was and not attractive at all. I ordered the cobblestone color because I purchased EF slim pants in that color. Love the pants but unfortunately returned this trench. Fabric even looks cheap.

Great Trench!
This will get a lot of wear in the spring, summer and fall here. I like that is not styled in the traditional way so no belt etc. just lovely flowing linen. I did pay attention to the reviewers who said it ran large and I went down from a PS to a PXS and it fits perfectly.

Fit is really off.

I bought this coat with the matching pants. Perfect for looking, smart and put together. I’ve worn a white T-shirt and a black T-shirt. This is the only designer that I wear and I feel so confident when I walk out my door into the public. You will love it. You can wear the coat with so many different things.

I love EF products and buy them for more then 10 years - as soon as I saw that there was a store in Vancouver. I appreciate EF's good quality of fabric, especially silk and organic linen, as well the quality of craftsmanship. This trench coat is made of linen fabric that is not too heavy and it will be used for warmer days of south Canadian spring. I find it true to size for EF XL.

Wonderful transition coat
It’s beautiful color and style . I wear medium and although it is oversized I’m keeping it . I like the drape plus the sleeves would be too short . I’m 5”71/2 and 138 lbs .

Love everything about this linen coat
I bought this coat several weeks ago after seeing it styled in our local EF store's front window - I love the "earthy" color (very adaptable to everything) and the drape and weight of the linen; have already worn it several times and it takes later winter/early spring layers beautifully...I normally wear a Medium in most EF, and took the Small in this coat...

Love this coat - the color, fabric and fit. It’s a soft linen so it does wrinkle, but in a good way. And it has a lovely drape. It does run quite large, so my first order of an XS had to be returned for a petite petite (who knew there was such a thing!?!), which it perfectly.

This is a lovely linen which hangs beautifully. I gave it" good "because the sizing is misleading. It is very oversized. Size down one from what you usually wear. I am Medium and purchased a small which fits perfectly
