Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrapped in Cranberry I bought this in the beautiful cranberry color. My closet now has five similar style jackets of different colors. They are staples in my wardrobe. This newest addition is sublime. Thank you, Eileen Fisher!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect Light Weight Coat PXS is roomy enough for layering. Red cedar is a beautiful neutral. This is my second boiled wool. Snaps or buttons would make it perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful coat! I purchased this lightweight coat in the Red Cedar color and it is beautiful. The fit is perfect and very flattering. Because of the loose fit, this coat hides my large butt and hips which I love. This cost is designed well and the boiled wool material is of great quality. I bought this cost on sale and it was very affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece It’s beautiful. Even better than expected and I had high expectations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Read the description carefully! This “coat” is nothing like the one from previous year's, which I pretty much wore out after daily wear over several northern Virginia winters. This one is more like a long sweater. So much so that the sleeves of a wool sweater get all bunched up inside. It’s not terrible—just not what I wanted. And definitely not worth $428! The dark red color IS nice with my silver hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boiled wool coat Beautiful light weight coat. Runs large. I love boiled wool items, and this is great for travel. Like traveling with your blanket but fashionable

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eileen Fisher Clothing - Not Like it Used to Be! The quality and workmanship of the fabrics and clothing has consistently gone down hill especially given the price tag associated with the clothing items. In the past, I always purchased Eileen Fisher products for the fit, style, and quality of the item. While the fit and style still works, the quality has gone down and the prices are consistently high. I'm glad that I buy classic items as I've been "shopping" in my own closet and plan to stop purchasing any more Eileen Fisher items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Love love love this lightweight warm coat, I have it in black and the rust color, I sized down from a PM to PS and it’s perfect, still enough room for a sweater underneath etc. drape is perfect, dress up or down, a favorite!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning red coat I had one in green that moths invaded, so this purchase is a replacement. I wasn’t certain I’d like the red, but it’s truly closer to a subdued cranberry, and it’s beautiful. It’s just as stylish and comfortable as the green one bought three years ago. Also, with climate change, I find I wear this through the winter in a mid-Atlantic state. I’m so pleased I found this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Coat! Lightweight, stylish, minimalistic, and cozy. Can be worn as business attire or very casually.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High hopes dashed I wanted to love this coat, but I could not. The color was sublime, but the fabric had no drape and the sleeves had no lining. The sleeves of a winter coat MUST have lining so as to avoid the tug of war between winter sweaters and the coat sleeve. The cost was just TOO unstructured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely. Very flattering. The perfect weight for winter in San Francisco.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought it in two colors. I loved this coat so much, I bought it in two colors.. It's not too heavy, but still warm enough for a chilly night. You can roll the collar up around your neck if extra warmth is needed. It drapes beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recommend this This is elegant! I'm 5'5" 145lbs and usually a M in most brands. In EF, a S works best unless I intentially want something more boxy. For this, I ordered a S (after trying it on in a store), and loved that it was on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great wardrobe addition. Love this jacket. Fits well. Fabric is light enough to wear as a jacket now under a coat and will be great as an outer layer when the weather warns up. I got many compliments. Very versatile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Preferred previous years I preferred previous years boiled wool jackets but still ordered the cedar and alpine. It the same as my two from several years ago, but still a nice piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, easy styling I have four of these and love that I can just through them over whatever I have on and run out the door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat I bought this coat in alpine and love the color. I got my usual S and it is a bit oversize but it looks great with a belt or the pin that came with It.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alpine color darker than shown online I just received this. The fit and quality are as expected, but the color is several shades darker than the Alpine shown online. This is very disappointing. It will not have contrast with black as shown in the photos. I will likely return it. For the price, I want the piece to check all of my boxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A surprise favorite One of my favorite EF purchases of all time! I did not think I wanted anything made out of boiled wool or a coat when I walked into the Bellevue store during the first day of a great sale. Susan, one of the many wonderful store associates pointed me to this coat, but I wanted something shorter. After a long time at the store trying many things I grabbed the coat at the last minute while paying for my purchases. The alpine color is somewhat of a fashion color but dark enough to be timeless. The depth of the color complements my green eyes and fair complexion quite nicely. I got the coat in my usual EF size. It drapes perfectly and allows a range of movement while keeping me warm. I have worn the coat almost every day since I bought it except when it rained heavily. I think it will get me through most of the winter in the Pacific Northwest with a warm scarf. What surprised me is that I do not overheat while wearing the coat indoors (grocery store, etc.). I run hot and I typically take my jacket off even when indoor for a short time. But this coat breaths and I can keep it on! I just feel so happy ever time I wear this coat. And I think of Susan :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and elegant Just bought this in Alpine and love wearing! Usually wear medium but sized down to small. Fit is perfect. Works with other greens from EF. I will get one in Cedsr if on sale.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sadly, poor design, and poor quality. Like the other reviewers, I have several versions of this coat from past years. This one is thinner and more importantly, very badly designed. I ordered my usual petite large, thinking I would have plenty of room. The shoulders were terribly tight, and again there was no elegance, because there was not enough swing. Needed more cloth on the deck and more room in the shoulders. Very disappointing I sent it back. The color was fabulous so I’m sad about that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened to Eileen Fisher quality? I need to say that I have 2 Eileen Fisher similar to this design coats which I have purchased in the past. These coats were an example of quality and great design for me. I have been wearing these coats a lot and have been always pleased with how good they look and how versatile they are. Well, it is all in the past now. I just bought this coat during BF sale in alpine color. And it is a disaster. The quality of the fabric is just awful. It is super thin and does not fold the same as previous models. They also changed the way it is constructed. It has less fabric on the back and more in front and it makes shoulder line slide back which is not comfortable. I usually have size XL in EF coats but with this new way they make the coat now I have to go size up to have enough length in sleeves which became shorter too. Since Eileen Fisher retired the quality control is out. What a shame!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same great quality, cut, or softness... I have a shorter and the longer version of this coat in different colors and from previous years. The softness and the thickness has changed over the past 3-4 years. I am really disappointed in the quality now. This coat a few years ago had a slightly different cut, it was thicker and softer. I prefer the previous cut. It was elegant, and more out together. Price is always quite high but the expectation of quality - I thought - matched the price. Not true anymore since the past couple of years. I don't like returning clothes / products. So this stays with me, but the quality doesn't match the price. EF: Can you please make clothes at the same level of quality as 4+ years ago?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat, beautiful color I’ve had renditions of this coat over the years, but the Alpine color really caught my eye. Sleeve and torso length are perfect. Will be an excellent piece to wear as a jacket this fall AB’s a layering piece in the winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could Be Better This would be better with a hood. The collar makes it rather ho hum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a cold weather winner Another purchase based first on the color ( Alpine) which immediately caught my eye. I don't stray too far from my basic black wardrobe so whenever I have a chance to expand my color range with compatible and stunning colors like this it is all good for me. I did order medium and large and while both fit well I stayed with the large mostly because there is no lining and was concerned that because of that any long sleeved shirt/sweater would not move easily against the wool coat. Definitely looking forward to cold weather to wear this. The shawl color is a great feature.
