Just not happening
I wanted to make this my new summer travel jacket, but the fit is just not happening for me. The fabric is lovely and much more in line with what I've come to expect from EF, unlike a number of other pieces which were sent back

Classic Jacket
This heavy linen jacket is a classic style that can be worn year-round as a jacket or layering piece. The drape and fullness camouflage imperfections of too many or too few pounds. I put 2 snaps at the collar to close the neckline and draw the eye upward. With black the Dawn fabric takes on a gray tint. Geranium is striking and gorgeous if you don’t mind being noticed. I’d like to see the jacket in other colors such as Plum, Violet, Rose, Lilac, Navy, Brown, Rust or in Tweeds.

The Thickest Linen
Lovely color and fabric. I bought it because it makes a perfect match with the dress and wide-length palazzo pants(silk) of the same color. The boxy shape is comfortable. I do not give it a five because I do not like to iron. Since it is made of Eileen Fisher's heaviest linen, it wrinkles easily. That is the only criticism I have, and I realize it is not a fair criticism since all linen wrinkles! If it didn't wrinkle, it would not be true, real, organic French linen! So, if you don't mind ironing, this is a great summer jacket. It would go great with jeans & leggings, too.

Lovely Geranium color...
I had my eye on this jacket for a long time. When I found it on sale, I ordered it. But, I was never quite sure that it would work for me. I thought it would be too short to be graceful, and I wasn't sure about the drape front design.
But, I ordered it in the bright geranium red color. The color was wonderful, even though I never ever wear red. I really loved the color. The fabric was very nice -- and I love linen. And, I thought it would bring some warmth and cheer to my life and it would look great with jeans (white, black, or blue), and it would look fantastic with a black t-shirt. But, I did not like the neckline. And, I really did not like all of the fussy interior facings. Somehow, I imagined that it would be more finished on the inside. But, no, it has a lot of floppy facings along the neckline and behind the drape front and the pocket area. It is messy inside and I could not just take it off and toss it over a chair...it was high maintenance -- it needed too much pampering.
I usually wear a size XL in EF jackets and that is the size I ordered. It was the perfect size. It is oversized and loose and it fit me perfectly in size XL (I'm a 38DD, 43" hips, 5'7" and 160 lbs). Other reviewers described the jacket as being huge, but I found that it was just a nicely oversized loose short jacket with wide sleeves that were the perfect length and comfortable dropped shoulder seams.
I wanted the jacket to be longer and would have liked it so much better if it were a bright geranium loose linen long robe. I just wanted it to grow into a bright red kimono-like loose long jacket with patch pockets, but it just stayed the way it was, even though I thought a lot about it being something that it wasn't. I loved the dropped shoulders and the wide sleeves. I loved its cheerfulness. But, it just didn't seem like something that I would wear because I didn't like the short length and its fussy facings.
I reluctantly returned it. Sigh.
(I'd still like to have a bright geranium linen long jacket robe ... flowing and graceful ... worn with blue jeans and a black t-shirt...perhaps someday that jacket will arrive...)

Gorgeous but didn't work
Really generous cut - I read the other reviews and sized down for this jacket - I should have sized down even further to an XS. The fabric is lovely, but quite heavy so not suitable for travel. The color is just beautiful and I really wish EF would abandon the current "muddy" palette for some happier colors (not even the models who are being paid to wear the current clothes look happy . . . ). Because of the sizing, this one is going back.

Amazing Summer Wardrobe Staple
I originally purchased the dawn to complement all the blues in my wardrobe, but immediately went back and got the geranium as well. This is a fun, comfortable jacket. The linen is a heavier weight so it has some body. The jacket is meant to be loose, perfect for slipping on over a light sweater in the evening or a sleeveless dress or top. I will treat the geranium as a perfect neutral - it's not bright red and not orange - just a warm and cheerful summer color that will add brightness to black, tan, bone, navy or really almost any color you want to put with it. I am an EF XXS or XS or size 2, and, generally, an XXS in a jacket or top. This jacket is definitely roomy, and I went with the XXS. Perfect fit and still gave me the slightly slouchy look that I like. Another EF home run!

Great sping/summer jacket
This is a great jacket, though as many commented, it is very boxy. I bought a medium (I am usually a large) and it fits great. I got it in geranium and.light.blue. Love both the colors. It is a heavier weight for linen and I like it.

Gorgeous fabric - Runs Very Generous
I have been buying Eileen Fisher for 12+ years and know my EF sizing for certain styles and fabrics. This one broke the mold and runs a size big at leash. If you have a large bust, this is not for you but if you are pear or slim shape this would look fabulous on you. I am 5’10”, large busted (DDD) with broad swimmer shoulders...I was swimming in the XL which I always need for shoulder and bust for coats, jackets, and cardigans.

I loved the look of this jacket online, and the gorgeous light-blue color, so appropriate for Spring. Unfortunately, when I received it, the color was a washed-out, dull, "blah" blue. Not an attractive color. I usually order neutrals from EF so color accuracy was not as critical. I've not had good luck ordering colored clothing in natural fabrics from EF but because the blue of this item looked so gorgeous, I thought I'd give it a try. So tired of high-end vendors who can't manage to post photos of their items in accurate colors. Sending this one back.



 I'll stick to neutrals.

EF Heavy Linen Jacket
I definitely prefer heavy linen to the lighter linen. It holds up better, hangs better and launders better. I love that orange color. The light blue is also pretty but would not look good with my coloring.
I bought this jacket in petite small. I really appreciate the correctly proportioned petite sizing. EF misses clothing is proportioned for very very tall women.

Great Color, great fabric
I love that EF sends my purchases and they arrive the NEXT DAY! This one was a great fabric and great color, but too large -- I should have taken some earlier advice more seriously. Overall it seemed a bit too boxy for me, but when I asked about getting a smaller size I never got a reply from customer service. I'm a big fan of their clothes, but the virus issues are impacting service -- unfortunate, but not fully avoidable I'd imagine.

Fabulous but runs large
It's a beautiful jacket with a wonderful, heavier weight linen and I'm hoping the smaller size will work. I ordered my regular 'oversized' size from EF but it was enormous. This one runs large ladies so order a size down.

An all-around miss
Fabric too heavy for warm-weather wear, but I don't want to wear linen in the winter. Cut of garment is too voluminous, and the front balloons rather than drapes. Lovely color though.

Runs large
While it is described as “ drape” this jacket is just too bulky with too much material. The material is very nice and substantial so on a larger person, I think it would be a lovely piece to have. I am 5’4” size XS or XXS in most EF clothes
