EILEEN FISHER Inc. Joins Ceres

November 7, 2006

Boston, MA - Citing the company's commitment to social initiatives focused on improving women's health, the Ceres Board of Directors has approved the inclusion of EILEEN FISHER into its coalition of companies. The Irvington, NY based company is the first women's clothing company to join Ceres, a leading national coalition of investors, environmental organizations and other public interest groups working with companies to address environmental and social challenges, such as climate change.

From the company's founding, Eileen Fisher has integrated a strong social consciousness into her business operations. For example, the company offers all 670 of its employees reimbursements for massage, yoga, gym memberships and educational training. The company also uses Social Accountability International's SA8000 system to monitor its factories and also trains factory managers and employees on this system.

EILEEN FISHER joined Ceres to deepen the emphasis on environmental and social issues within the company's business strategy and establish a closer working relationship with investors, environmental groups and other key stakeholder organizations. Ceres has 70 companies in its company network, including 18 Fortune 500 companies.

"EILEEN FISHER is a model company in an industry where the bottom line too often cuts into the welfare of its workers," said Mindy S. Lubber, President of Ceres. "We look forward to working with EILEEN FISHER to further integrate sustainable practices into its business strategies."

"As a socially conscious business with a strong commitment to employee well-being, support of women, human rights in the workplace and now environmental sustainability, we are excited about the possibilities that our Ceres membership will bring to EILEEN FISHER," said Amy Hall, Social Consciousness Director of EILEEN FISHER.
