Growing on the Job: Julia's Story

At EILEEN FISHER, we have a different approach to work. We encourage cross-pollination amongst groups and teams, so we all have a chance to experience and all that they do, in a different way. In the spirit of collaboration and growth we have had some employees experiment with their own development, take Julia D... Julia started her career at EF three years ago in the Line Operations team where she learned everything about the "design process." From there she moved on as a Creative Assistant to the Design Director, where we learned Julia is an amazingly talented illustrator.

So amazing in fact, that her skills were utilized on process documents, presentation boards, etc. Throughout her journey, Julia felt like her she wanted her skills to be more of the "focus" of her work, rather than an added benefit.

After brainstorming with her HR Partner, we decided to see if Julia could lend her talents to a team that was in great need due to exponential growth - the Web Team! At first Julia helped them out once a week.

Fast forward four months. Julia has joined the team as a Graphics Designer. This story illustrates the experiential nature of our work here. If you can conceptualize it, it can happen!!
